daisy
Daisies are my favorite flower
the promise of first love
the sweet simpleness
of the petals
how they hang out there
waiting to be plucked
just like our hearts….
today
checking out at the grocery store
Eva and I were talking about kids,
flowers etc…
i was purchasing amongst
other things some flowers
i joked , “no one buys me flowers
i love flowers, so I’m buying my own…”
Eva and I laugh and Gregg
the gentleman bagging my groceries
says, “well I’m buying your flowers today!”
with that he handed Eva money
and he captured my heart.
What a kind gesture for this
sweet man to buy this
ole’ married chick flowers
i was touched
and very thankful.
Just believe in kindness
and give every day to those
you love and sometimes
a person just in need of a smile…
Happy Mothers Day weekend.
I miss you mom.

To nano or not to nano!!!
In my little world here of color, music plays such an important part. I use it to paint to. Painting a background I like to listen to Dixie Chicks, Long Way Home CD. This music gets me up and moving fast which is how I like to place my beginning strokes -fast and furious. The paint flies all over me and the studio, I have a multitude of colors open at once and a brush for each color. I like long strokes and sometimes I squeeze the tube of paint on to my hand and play in the paint with my fingers on canvas.
The second step, I need mellow music…anything from Jim Brickman, to the crooners, maybe a little Kenny Chesney thrown in. Anything steady and calm. So last week when my nano blew up and said, “I am old replace me” and quit working I batted my big brown eyes and snuggled up next to my hubby and said, “ya know, Mothers Day is next Sunday, and I was thinking I could use a new nano,” bat, bat, bat, smile, smile.
Fast forward to today. I run home to get Finny to take to my studio and low and behold a new nano is awaiting me.:)
:) ”Yes, Sheri there is a music God.” So now as i sit awaiting my next class I am smiling and thinking how sweet it is to be loved…Thanks D
cherubs
being a mom
is one of the
greatest gifts
the small faces
in this photo
are all grown up
but I still look
back
and remember
the day
when my three
little cherubs
thought I was
“super mom”-
they laughed at
my singing
and did not
sleep without hugs
their toes were tiny
and their hands so soft
being a mom
allows us
to remember those days
and to once
again
feel the innocence
of youth…
love you three to death.
